What is Make Music Pasadena?

Make Music Pasadena is a FREE, all-day, all-ages music celebration that attracts an estimated attendance of 50,000. Make Music Pasadena is California’s only musical festival that offers the unique opportunity to experience an immense range of quality music in varied urban settings at no cost.

The musical lineup totals more than 150 bands, featuring an eclectic mix of diverse music, including seasoned award-winning performers and emerging homegrown talent, coming together for one day to celebrate the spirit of music and community.

When is Make Music Pasadena?

The 9th annual edition takes place from 11:00am – 11:00pm on Saturday, June 11, 2016.

Where does Make Music Pasadena take place?

This annual music festival is held on 6 main stages and 30+ additional venues that span 20 city blocks throughout downtown Pasadena, California, just 15 minutes northeast of Los Angeles.

What is the origin of Make Music Pasadena?

Make Music Pasadena is modeled after the Fête de la Musique event that began in Paris in 1982 as a way to celebrate music by making all genres accessible to all people and taking music to the streets.

Who puts on Make Music Pasadena?

Make Music Pasadena is produced and organized by the Old Pasadena Management District and Playhouse District Association.

Where should I park at Make Music Pasadena?

There are numerous parking garages, and surface lots, as well as on street metered parking.  For more information, visit Parking.

Can I take public transportation to Make Music Pasadena?

Downtown Pasadena can be reached by the Metro Gold Line and is served by three convenient stations: Del Mar, Memorial Park, and Lake.  During the event, the Pasadena Transit buses offer free transport between the stages.  For more information and the bus route, visit Transportation.

Where are public restrooms located?

There are public restrooms and hand washing stations at various locations near the main stages. Use the Parking Map to locate them.

Can I bring my leashed pet to Make Music Pasadena?

Yes, your leashed pet is welcome at the outdoor main stages.  However, some of the supporting stages are inside businesses and institutions where your furry friend may not be welcome.
